Many that live deserve death. Some that die deserve life. Can you give it to them? Don’t be too eager to deal out death and judgment. Even the very wise cannot see all ends.

Why the halfling? I do not know. Saruman believes that only great power can hold evil in check. But that is not what I’ve found. I’ve found that it is the small things, everyday deeds from ordinary folk that keep the darkness at bay. Simple acts of kindness and love.

Where the warg howls, there also the orc prowls.

The world is indeed full of peril, and in it there are many dark places…but still there is much that is fair.

The wolf that one hears is worse than the orc that one fears.

His house was perfect, whether you liked food, or sleep, or work, or story-telling, or singing, or just sitting and thinking.

Faithless is he who says farewell when the road darkens.

The sun went down and there came a great silence. Darkness fell upon the land.

It’s a dangerous business, Frodo, going out your door…and if you don’t keep your feet, there’s no knowing where you might be swept off to.

To bear the Ring of Power is to be alone…this task was appointed to you…and if you do not find a way, no one will.

Maybe the paths that you each shall tread are already laid before your feet, though you do not see them.

How do you go on, when in your heart you begin to understand there is no going back?
