Before moving to the Adirondacks in November 2018, I had connected with Steve and Gabrielle Popp, from afar, late in the Summer. They shared with me their visions of Old Mountain Coffee and everything they had planned for the near and distant future. A lot goes into building a successful cafe from scratch, I soon learned. I was both anxious and excited to put my coffee skills to work.
In December 2018, the doors finally opened.
Over two years later, here we still are, offering up specialty coffee and teas from the espresso bar, along with an array of baked goods and sandwiches, made in-house, from scratch. Of special note, our homemade artisan pizzas (Saturdays, 4:45-8pm) and flavorful tacos and maragaritas (Mondays, 3-6:30pm) have been a huge hit. We try to use the best ingredients possible!
In the Summer, in addition to regular shop hours, one can find me at the Saranac Lake Farmer’s Market with our mobile coffee cart. We offer a full espresso bar, along with some delicious baked goods.
Over the years, my love of coffee has deepened. The science, artistry, production, and application of it inspires me. I look forward to continuing my work and expanding my knowledge and skills in the industry!
